What is Google Trends?
Google Trends, based on Google search, shows how often a certain search-term is entered relative to the total search-volume across many regions of the world and in many languages. It reflects what keywords people are searching for on a daily basis.
The main graph shows popularity broken down by region, city and language.
Also, since 2008, there has been a sub-section of Google Trends which analyzes traffic for websites, rather than traffic for search terms.
Google Trends is an awesome marketing tool that will display valuable information for product launches… when to market a specific product or service by the time of year, by region and by popularity.
It’s also fun just to see what others are up too including your competition…
“Hot Searches” reflects what people are searching for on Google today, rather than showing the most popular searches like the term “weather.”
Google highlights searches that have a sudden surge in popularity and is updated hourly.
The page also displays news, blog posts, and web results.
You can compare up to five terms by separating each one with a comma.
